The tools that I use often:

  1. http://instantdomainsearch.com/ Instant Domain Search but it is has a slightly obsolete data. After a quick check, verify the results with GoDaddy also.
  2. Ajax Whois 2.0 - fast domain name search and whois
  3. http://www.dotomator.com/: You need to give prefixes and suffixes, it will then create every possible combination. Nice service.
